Industry standards dictate the parameters used to determine these length specifications, distinguishing between external length (Le), internal length (Li), and pitch length. The pitch length, as defined by DIN 2215, corresponds to the measurement at approximately 3/4 of the belt's height. It's essential to consider the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer, as it plays a pivotal role in accurate length measurement during the production process.

Due to varied measuring methods, different V-belt dimensions can be found on the same vehicle model from distinct manufacturers. We recommend that you refer solely to our vehicle assignments for fitting guidance.

Special attention is advised for Piaggio scooters, particularly regarding the oil pump belt after a broken V-belt incident. The risk of flying debris from a broken V-belt can lead to damage or complete destruction of the oil pump belt, which is situated behind the variomatic and not immediately visible. It is prudent to check the condition of the oil pump belt whenever a V-belt is replaced. A compromised oil pump belt can lead to severe engine damage, including piston seizure.
