It’s essential to note that differences in measurement and production methods lead to varying length specifications among manufacturers; however, such variances do not compromise the functionality of the belts.

In the industry, different standards define length specifications using parameters like external length (Le), internal length (Li), and pitch length. The pitch length, in accordance with DIN 2215, is measured at approximately 3/4 height of the belt. When measuring the length, it is crucial to consider the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer, as this is a significant factor in the production process.

Due to the various measuring methods, it is possible for different V-belt dimensions from multiple manufacturers to be used on the same vehicle. Therefore, we strongly advise you to adhere strictly to our vehicle assignments.

Particularly for Piaggio scooters, special care should be taken regarding the oil pump belt following a broken V-belt. A broken V-belt can result in flying debris within the engine housing, which may damage or completely destroy the oil pump belt. Since the oil pump belt is situated behind the variomatic and is not readily visible, it is always advisable to inspect the condition of the oil pump belt and replace it if necessary. Neglecting a damaged or destroyed oil pump belt can lead to severe consequences, including piston seizure!
